The old and idyllic village Elsegårde has its own village pond and is situated 7 km south-east of Ebeltoft. The holiday house area, Elsegårde Strand, is located right by the lovely beach of the Kattegat, right opposite Elsegårde, and surrounded by scenic nature.
It is possible to buy groceries in Elsegårde, which also offers a large playground, a minigolf course as well as rental of bicycles and boats. When you spend your holiday in Elsegårde you can play minigolf, sail, drive on bicycles, ride on horses, swim, fish from the shore, play golf, enjoy the cosy harbour environment in Øer or go on an excursion to Ebeltoft, one of Denmark's oldest and prettiest towns, or to some of the many interesting attractions on Djursland.
By Elsegårde Strand you will find a lovely bathing beach with both grassy and sandy areas. From Elsegårde Strand you can enjoy the view of the island Hjelm.
In continuation of Elsegårde Strand towards north you will find the beach Boeslum Strand - one of Djursland's best bathing beaches with fine sand, a sandy bottom, waves, good surf conditions and Blue Flag.
Towards south you will find the beach of Øer, which is a good and child-friendly beach with coarse sand and Blue Flag.
Scenic forests and hilly nature landscapes surround Elsegårde.
Between Elsegårde and Øer you will find a large moor area, which contains many rare and preserved species of animals and plants. The terrain is undulating, which often provides you with a good view of the landscape and the sea. A number of good nature paths are available in the area.
The area 'Mols Bjerge' (the mountains of Mols) is a magnificent and preserved nature landscape with a varying nature, a number of walking paths, grave mounds and a rich animal life. Thick forest replaces open moorland hills and you can enjoy a great view of Mols, the Kattegat as well as the coves 'Kalø Vig' and 'Ebeltoft Vig' from the viewpoints 'Agri Bavnehøj' (137 m) and 'Trehøje' (127 m) (20 km).
In the village Elsegårde you can play minigolf as well as rent bicycles and boats.
Anglers will find good opportunities along the shore, where it is possible to catch sea trout, as well as in the Put & Take fishponds of the area. Throw the line in f.x. the fishpond 'De 7 Øer Put & Take' from the harbour of Øer, about 2 km from Elsegårde Strand. Furthermore, deep-sea fishing trips are arranged with a fishing vessel from Ebeltoft.
In the holiday village 'Øer maritime Ferieby' you can play tennis and badminton among other things. A swimming baths and a sauna are available here, where you can also rent riding horses and sail with a gondola.
In the swimming baths 'Ebeltoft Svømmehal' you can pamper yourselves by making use of the Turkish bath, the massage, the solarium and much more (7 km).
From the scenic and hilly golf course of the club 'Ebeltoft Golfklub' with 18 challenging holes you can enjoy the view of the cove 'Ebeltoft Vig' and the nature area 'Mols Bjerge' (8 km).
Experience the activity and atmosphere in the cosy tourist town Ebeltoft with the narrow and charming cobble stone roads and the classical, lopsided houses. Here you will also find a cosy harbour environment, many interesting shops and artists workshops, good restaurants and more sights (7 km).
The glass museum 'Glasmuseet' contains various collections by both national and international glass artists.
The frigate 'Jylland' is the largest wooden warship in the world. The hull is 71 metres long, the spread of canvas is 1,881 square metres and it weights 2,450.
In 'Ree Park - Ebeltoft Safari' the animal species are divided on four continents, as they would be in nature. Experience the fantastic spectacle over the savannah with the many different animals (13 km).
The castle ruin 'Kalø Slotsruin' from the year 1313 is a famous tourist attraction. The ruin is scenically situated right by the cove of Kalø Vig (28 km).
In the animal park 'Skandinavisk Dyrepark' you will have genuine nature experiences. From the 250 metres long footbridge you can observe the bears in the amazing bear park (30 km).
The amusement park 'Djurs Sommerland' is a fun and interesting experience for the whole family (34 km).
Observe the fearful sharks at close range behind a thick pane of glass in the aquarium 'Kattegatcentret' (38 km).
Moat, forest, fields and meadow scenically surround the castle and museum 'Gl. Estrup'. The castle also contains a manor house museum and an agricultural museum (46 km).
Visit Århus, the 'capital' of Jutland, with the amusement park 'Tivoli Friheden', the open-air museum 'Den Gamle By', the music house, the small and intimate alleys of the Latin Quarter and the lively atmosphere by stream 'Vadestedet' (56 km).
