This landscape attracts a large number of migratory birds, which visit the wetlands especially during spring and autumn. The EU has appointed the areas as protected bird sanctuaries. From the 2 bird shelters you can observe the birds.
The angling opportunities are very good along the shores ¿ especially from the west coast and by the lighthouse. Furthermore, the island is an ideal holiday destination for nature lovers, who wish to explore the island on foot.
A single grave mound on the south coast of the island bears witness of the fact that Bågø has been inhabited all the way back to the antiquity.
