The cosy holiday house area between Nyborg and Svendborg is ideal for families, anglers, nature lovers and everyone else, who wish to relax in peaceful and natural surroundings. Bøsøre has a lovely bathing beach and is surrounded by the characteristic, idyllic Funen nature.
It is possible to buy groceries in the area and in the nearby town Hesselager.
The beach by Bøsøre is a good beach with coarse sand. The water is shallow and calm, and therefore the beach is very suitable for children. On a clear day you can catch a glimpse of The Great Belt Bridge from the beach.
Bøsøre is surrounded by water, forest and lovely unspoiled nature.
The forest 'Kajbjerg Skov' is situated right by the coast of eastern Funen and contains more forest lakes and marked walking routes.
A couple of km north of Bøsøre you will find the forest 'Tårup Lundeskov'. The very rare fire-bellied toad lives around the lake 'Klokkesøen' by the beach of Tårup, and on a hot day in the early summer you will be able to hear its croaking.
A number of walking and bicycle routes are available in the scenic landscape behind the town and along the shore.
You are allowed to make use of the tropical water world with 3 pools, a jacuzzi and a sauna by the caravan park 'Bøsøre Camping'. Here you can also rent bicycles and riding horses.
Within a radius of 25 km you will find no less than 2 golf courses: The course by 'Nyborg Golfklub', which is scenically situated right down to the inlet 'Nyborg Fjord', as well as the course by 'Svendborg Golfklub', from which you have a view of the south Funen archipelago.
For anglers, the area is full of opportunities. It is possible to fish along the shore around Bøsøre. Deep-sea fishing is arranged with the ship 'M/S Habeleto' from Nyborg, Svendborg or Lohals. It is also possible to go fishing onboard a fishing vessel or on a sail on the Great Belt from Lundeborg (14 km).
In the swimming baths 'Svendborg Svømmeland' you will find: water slide, water canon, a canal with current, jacuzzies, hot water pools, children's pools, sauna and solariums.
The church of Hesselager is quite remarkable because of its semicircular house ends. The same ornamentation can be seen on the manor house 'Hesselagergård' (5 km).
'Damestenen' (the lady stone) between Vormark and Hesselager is a 1,000 tonnes heavy gneiss stone, which was brought here during the last ice age (4 km).
The bird and nature park 'Sydfyns Fugle- & Naturpark' is situated in Vejstrup. The scenic park with its 30,000 m2 of flowers, animals and water environments is a nature experience for the whole family (14 km).
Handicraft shops, galleries and workshops can be visited more places in the area.
Nyborg is a cosy town with old and gently restored houses, banks, which invites walks, and a lot of culture (19 km).
Visit Svendborg with the preserved old town centre, the s narrow and winding roads, the squares and the backyard environments. The town is influenced by its history, which goes all the way back to the early Middle Ages (23 km).
The beautiful castle 'Egeskov Slot' by Kværndrup is characterized as one of the best preserved Renaissance island forts in Europe (29 km).
In the marine centre 'Fjord- & Bælt Centret' in Kerteminde you can come into contact with f.x. porpoises from the outdoor bridge or from the long underwater tunnel (38 km).
Visit the home town of H.C. Andersen, Odense, a modern and evocative town with a number of leisure potentialities in the shape of music, theatre, shows on the squares, pedestrian streets, cafés, restaurants and pubs (56 km).
'Den Fynske Landsby' by Odense is an open-air museum, showing a Funen village environment from around the year 1850.
