The small village Gudbjerg is situated in a quiet and scenic area in a lovely corner of Funen. The area is rich in bathing beaches, beautiful nature areas, castles, manor houses and relics of ancient culture.
It is possible to buy groceries in Gudme, and only 13 km from Gudbjerg, Svendborg offers a number of shops, restaurants, activities and sights for the whole family.
More lovely bathing beaches are available along the south-eastern coast of Funen. By Lundeborg (9 km), Hesselager (10 km) and Elsehoved (11 km) you will find good sandy beaches with clear water. All beaches are very suitable for children.
The beach of Lundeborg is one of the loveliest beaches in Funen with coarse sand, clear water and a bathing jetty.
In the small forest Gudbjerglund, right by Gudbjerg, you can experience 4 long barrows from the neolithic period (the period 3500-3100 B. C.).
In the forest 'Nyhaveskoven', 7 km towards east, you will find a beautiful nature and 5 small passage graves.
The idyllic watermill 'Vejstrup Vandmølle' is situated in the scenic river valley 'Vejstrup Ådal' (9 km).

Anglers will find good opportunities all along the coast of eastern Funen, and it is also possible to fish in 'Stokkebækken' - a stream between Gudbjerg and Vormark, which is well stocked with fish. Furthermore, it is possible to go deep-sea fishing onboard a fishing vessel or just sailing on the Great Belt from Lundeborg.
The nearest 18-hole golf course is available by 'Svendborg Golfklub'. The course is scenically situated and from the highest points of the course you can enjoy the view of the south Funen archipelago.
A variety of walking and bicycle paths are available in the lovely landscape between the town and the coast as well as along the shore. It is possible to rent bicycles at the tourist information in Lundeborg.
At the property 'Broholm Gods' you can see an interesting ancient collection, consisting of 70,000 flint and stone effects as well as bronze and iron objects, which have been found on the fields of Broholm (5 km).
The church of Hesselager is quite remarkable because of its semicircular house ends. The same ornamentation can be seen on the manor house 'Hesselagergård' (8 km).
9 km towards south Vejstrup with the idyllic watermill 'Vejstrup Vandmølle' and the river valley 'Vejstrup Ådal' are situated.
The small fishing hamlet Lundeborg has a small marina and fishing harbour with a charming environment. Here it is possible to buy fish directly from the fishing boats (9 km).
The beautiful castle 'Egeskov Slot' by Kværndrup offers beautiful gardens, a giant maze and more museums (10 km).
Visit Svendborg with the preserved old town centre, the narrow and winding alleys, the squares and the backyard environments. The town is influenced by its history, which goes all the way back to the early Middle Ages. Cultural experiences, good shopping possibilities and numerous restaurants are available here (13 km).
In the aqua centre 'Fjord- & Bæltcentret' in Kerteminde you can experience the mysteries of the sea, seen with the eyes of a diver, from a 50 metres long underwater tunnel or get close to porpoise from the outdoor bridge (37 km).
Visit the home town of H.C. Andersen, Odense, a modern and evocative town with a number of leisure potentialities in the shape of music, theatre, shows on the squares, pedestrian streets, cafés, restaurants and pubs (39 km).
'Den Fynske Landsby' by Odense is an open-air museum, showing a Funen village environment from around the year 1850.
