Gultved is located in a quiet and scenic landscape in a lovely corner of Funen - close to the town Ringe and the castle Egeskov Slot. The area is rich in lovely nature, half-timbered houses, castles, manor houses, relics, leisure activities and sights, and short drive brings you to commercial towns with shops and restaurants, lovely bathing beaches as well a the many interesting tourist attractions in Funen.
A number of lovely bathing beaches are available along the shores of Funen, f.x. on both sides of Svendborg and more places along the southern coast of Funen. Among others is the beach Christiansminde Strand in the eastern outskirts of Svendborg recommendable. This great sandy beach is suitable for swimming, sunbathing, walks as well as various ball games (22 km).
Many of the southeastern beaches on Funen offer clear and child-friendly water, and often a bathing jetty is at your disposal.
Gultved is located in peaceful rural surroundings with fields, hills, bogs, river valleys, winding roads, hedges, green areas and small woods. The many forests of the area are extremely idyllic and often they offer good walking paths, lakes, streams and a rich animal life.
The lake Ringe Sø is recreational area with many birds, and you can follow the paths of the area on food or bicycle and observe the many aquatic birds (7 km).
The memorial grove Mindelunden Gudbjerglund near Gudbjerg contains 4 long barrows from the neolithic period (3500-3100 B.C.). The Long barrows are between 19 and 117 m long and 7 m wide (14 km).
Svanninge Bakker near Fåborg is also known as 'The Funen Alps'. This area is a beautiful and hilly forest landscape with heathery hills and a network of bicycle and walking paths. Furthermore, you will find a gazebo with an exhibition about Svanninge Bakker here.
The green, idyllic and unspoiled landscape, surrounding Gutlved, invites walks and bicycle trips.
The nearest 18-hole golf course is available with Svendborg Golfklub, which offers a beautifully situated course, from which you can enjoy the view of the South Funen archipelago (15 km). Near Gudme (17 km) you can play golf on a Pay & Play course with 9 holes, which is scenically situated in an old orchard.
Anglers can throw in the line all along the southern and eastern coast, and equally, there are good fishing opportunities in Stokkebækken - a stream between Gudbjerg and Vormark, which is well stocked with fish (app. 14 km). Furthermore, a number of good fishponds are available in the area.
At the impressive castle Egeskov Slot near Kværndrup you can experience more beautiful gardens - f.x. a fuchsia garden and a Renaissance garden, a giant maze and more museums, like f.x. a vintage museum, a motorcycle museum, a grocery museum, a toy museum, and a doll's house museum (4 km).
Ringe Museum shows an exhibition about the early history of area as well as the everyday life of the local population (4 km).
The idyllically situated estate Broholm Gods near Gudme is one of the oldest manor houses in the country. By the southern moat you can visit a museum with a collection of ancient monuments, which consists of 70,000 objects, made out of flint, stone, bronze and iron, found on the fields of Broholm. The late Gothic main building has been restored and is equally open to visitors (18 km).
Visit Svendborg, which has preserved its old town centre with narrow and winding alleys, squares and backyard environments. Svendborg also offers a cosy harbour, a number of cultural experiences, shops and restaurants (19 km).
Go with the ferry from Svendborg to the idyllic and evocative island Ærø, which offers lovely beaches, beautiful nature, cosy towns and harbours (app. 1½ hours sail from Svendborg).
Don¿t miss one of Denmark's most beautiful castles: Valdemars Slot near Troense. The castle was build in the 17th century and today, it contains more museum. Experience f.x. an interesting toy museum (23 km).
Visit Odense - the hometown of H. C. Andersen. Odense is a modern and evocative town with a number of leisure potentialities in the shape of music, theatre, pedestrian streets, cafés, restaurants, pub etc. (30 km). Here you can also visit the house of H. C. Andersen, the railway museum Danmarks Jernbanemuseum, the open-air museum Den Fynske Landsby and Odense Zoo.
