Korinth is located in scenic South Funen and surrounded by lakes, woods, rhododendron and the castle Brahetrolleborg Slot. Among other things, Korinth is famous for its many rhododendrons, which embellish the main road as well as the gardens and the palace garden Brahetrolleborg Slotshave. Near Korinth you will also find Arreskov Sø, the largest lake in Funen, the Renaissance castle Arreskov as well as the castle, gardens and church of Brahetrolleborg, which were build by a monastic order in the 13th century. Furthermore, the village is surrounded by the largest forest area of Funen.
You will find good shops in Korinth and 9 km from here, you can visit Fåborg, which offers town life, bathing beaches, culture, shops and restaurants.
Near Fåborg (9 km), you can swim by the beaches Klinten Strand - a truly lovely sandy beach with a sandy bottom, deep water and Blue Flag, and Hesseløje Strand with fine sand, shallow water and a stony/sandy bottom. The shallow water of Hesseløje Strand makes it very child-friendly.
Around Fåborg, you will find a number of good small bathing beaches. All of these offer good conditions for windsurfers.
The beach Sinebjerg Strand is a good and child-friendly beach, and here you can rent boat and kayaks (5 km south of Fåborg).
Funens largest forest area as well as many beautiful lakes surround Korinth. With its almost three square kilometres Arreskov Sø is the largest lake in Funen. The stream Odense Å rises from the lake and flows 60 km through Funen and right through the centre of Odense.
The forest Søllerup Skov offers a hilly landscape with old coniferous and leaf-bearing trees as well as the murmuring stream Rislebækken.
Svanninge Bakker, also known as 'The Funen Alps', is located between Korinth and Fåborg. The area is a beautiful and hilly forest landscapes with heathery hills and a network of bicycle and walking paths. Furthermore, you will find a large nature playground as well as a gazebo with an exhibition about Svanninge Bakker.
The conservation area Bøjden Nor is a bird sanctuary, where about 50 different bird species can be observed. Along the salt meadow, you can follow a marked walking path, and from an observation shelter, you can experience the bird life at close range (16 km).
When you spend your holiday in Korinth, you can take a ride with the local preserved railway line, which travels between Korinth and Fåborg. The ride brings you through the scenic landscape and stops at more small halts on the way.
Golfers can test the 18-hole course of Fåborg Goflklub, which is situated close to Korinth. It is said that the course belongs among the ones with the most beautiful location in Denmark.
The area, surrounding Korinth, invites bicycle and hikes in the beautiful nature.
All the way along the coast of Horne Land, windsurfers will find very good conditions.
The area is also interesting for anglers, as the opportunities for coastal fishing are good along the shores of Horne Land. You can also go deep-sea fishing with a cutter from Fåborg or angle in Svanninge Put & Take near Fåborg.
From Fåborg you can go with the ferry to the islands Ærø, Avernakø, Lyø and Bjørnø.
Visit the old rhododendron park by the castle Brahetrolleborg Slot. The park blooms from late spring and is a marvellously beautiful sight from May to August.
Kaleko Vandmølle is Denmark's oldest functioning watermill, and it is very scenically located in its original surroundings (8 km).
In Fåborg, you will find an idyllic market town atmosphere with cobbled streets, beautiful town houses and old merchant's houses as well as a pleasant and vivid harbour. Fåborg offers attractions like the prison exhibition Fåborg Arrests fængselsudstilling, the miniature town Fåborg Miniby, Fåborg Museum with Funen paintings and the beautiful merchant's house Den Voigtske Gård (9 km).
At the beautiful castle Egeskov Slot near Kværndrup, you can experience outstanding gardens, a giant maze and more museums (13 km). Visit Odense - the birth town of H.C. Andersen - a modern and evocative town with music, mummery, theatre, pedestrian streets, cafés, restaurants and pubs (32 km). In Odense Zoo, you can experience a very special chimpanzee section and a large Oceanium. Den Fynske Landsby near Odense is an open-air museum, which shows a Funen village environment from around the year 1850.
