The cosy holiday house area Mou is situated by the Liim Fiord, only a few km from the gentle coast of the Kattegat.

The area around Mou is characterized by an unusual nature landscape, and the location by the inlet and the sea provides you with good opportunities for water activities. The small village also has its own harbour. A grocery store is available in the town.
From the small fishing hamlet Egense, 3 km from Mou, you can go with the ferry every 10 minutes to Hals, where you will find shops, restaurants, entertainment and activities for the whole family. Mou is a lovely holiday destination if you wish to relax and enjoy nature.
No bathing beach is available right by Mou, but the location right by the Kattegat means that there are good bathing possibilities in the area. Towards the north you will find the child-friendly beaches 'Bisnap Strand' (10 km) and 'Hou Strand' (16 km). Both beaches have fine sand, a sandy bottom, shallow water and the Blue Flag.
Towards the south lies 'Stejlgabet' by Dokkedal. Here you will find a lovely, white and sandy beach with calm water. The beach is traffic-free and has the Blue Flag (10 km). The beach of Øster Hurup is a long white bathing beach with low dunes and Blue Flag. It is very suitable for children because of the small waves and shallow water. The beach is also a popular place for bathing, sunbathing, windsurfing and other beach activities (21 km).
The landscape around Mou is undulating and from many spots in the hills you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Liim Fiord and the Kattegat.
'Mulbjerge' is a preserved and rather distinctive moraine hillock of 144 hectares near Dokkedal. From here you have a good view of the sea towards east and the elongated plain landscape towards west (10 km).
'Kongerslev Hede' is a preserved moor landscape, which also contains some old bronze age mounds. From these mounds you have an amazing view of the area.
By the shallow wetlands between Egense and Hals you can experience a spectacular bird life.
'Lille Vildmose' is the largest marsh area in Denmark and contains lakes, farm areas and the forests 'Høstemark Skov' and 'Toft Skov'.
Further inland you can experience the second largest forest area in Denmark. 'Rold Skov' has an undulating terrain, many forest lakes, springs, varying forest, a rich animal life and a number of walking paths. The forest is definitely worth a visit.
At the go-cart track in Mou exciting competitions for the whole family are arranged. Experience speed and excitement on the 600 metres long track.
Surrounded by water Mou offers good possibilities for the anglers. You can fish in the inlet, from the piers, on the sea, in the streams or in one of the Put & Take fishponds of the area. Boats can be rented by the harbour in Mou.
Golf players can try out the courses by 'Hals Golfklub', which is situated by the sea, or 'Rold Skov Golfklub', which is an idyllically situated in the forest.
The area is level and therefore comfortable for bicyclists. Lovely nature experiences await you along the marked bicycle routes, which lead you through the scenic landscapes of eastern Himmerland. You will also find more nature paths and walking routes in the area, i.a. in 'Mulbjergene' by Dokkedal.
From Egense you can you can go on a 5 minutes ferry trip over the Liim Fiord to the holiday town Hals, which is a cosy holiday town with a vivid and harbour atmosphere. On the square in Hals the jaws and the vertebras of a blue whale are displayed.
The fortress 'Hals Skanse' is situated by the mouth of the Liim Fiord. The powder magazine and the arsenal are preserved and a museum has been established in the latter. The museum of Hals shows an exhibition of local history about the sea, inlet, town, fortress, war and occupation.
Aalborg is the 'capital' of northern Jutland. Here you will find art, culture, Denmark's oldest convent, pedestrian streets, the charming old town centre, the amusement street 'Jomfru Ane Gade' and various restaurants (24 km).
The zoo in Aalborg is a child-freindly animal kingdom in beautiful surroundings.
The large forest 'Rold Skov' offers an undulating terrain, forest lakes, springs, varying forest, a rich animal life and many walking routes.
In the amusement park 'Fårup Sommerland & Aquapark' by the holiday town Blokhus you can try out more than 50 exciting activities for the whole family. When the entry has been paid for, all activities are available for free (58 km).
