Arresø, on the other side of Roskilde Fjord, is Denmark’s biggest lake. Here you can hike and drive on bicycle along the lake or take a cosy sail on the lake (22 km).
Roskilde Fjord invites swimming and sailing. It is, among other things, very popular to surf or sail in canoe and sea kayak on the inlet. You can also hike and drive on bicycle on the path, which has been established along the inlet. Anglers can fish for garfish and sea trout, which live in Roskilde Fjord, or visit one of the Put & Take fishponds in the area.
Golfers can visit the course of Frederikssund Golfbane, which is located just a few km from Tørslev Hage.
A short drive from Tørslev Hage you will find the mediaeval castle Jægerspris Slot. Here you can experience exhibitions and a beautiful palace garden.
In the rose park Gerlev Rosenpark you can experience more than 5,000 beautiful plants (4 km).
During the summer you can freshly milled flour by the historic mill Jægerspris Mølle (8 km).
The cosy commercial town Frederikssund offers a pedestrian street, shops and good restaurants. But the town is also the home of the vikings and throughout the summer you can experience viking plays here (8 km). The viking village is a scenically situated well-preserved village with houses and ships.
Near Skibby you can visit the castle Selsø Slot from the renaissance and see the distinguished great halls with giant paintings, changing exhibitions, the oldest intact kitchen in Denmark and a dungeon. Furthermore, you can enjoy the sight of the beautiful preserved bird sanctuary by the lake Selsø Sø (10 km).
J.F. Willumsens Museum in Frederikssund exhibits paintins, pottery, sculptures and photographs by J.F. Willumsen (8 km).
By the charming town Kulhuse at the tip of Hornsherred in North Sealand you will find a cosy port with ferry connection to Sølager. The ferry transports both bicycles and cars and the service lasts only 8 minutes (18 km).
At the viking ship museum Vikingeskibsmuseet in Roskilde you can have an interesting insight into the history of the vikings and their ships. And you can try a sail on Roskilde Fjord onboard on the museum ships (36 km).
A 45 minutes long drive brings you to the capital Copenhagen, where you can visit all of the famous attractions, like for example Tivoli, Planetarium, Experimentarium, Carlsberg Glyptotek, the castle Rosenborg Slot, København Zoo and many more (61 km).
