Rendbjerg is situated on the southern coast of Broagerland, right at the cove 'Broager Vig' and the inlet 'Flensborg Fjord', and only 6 km from Gråsten towards west and 17 km to Sønderborg towards east. From many of the holiday houses in this quiet and scenic area you can enjoy the view of Flensborg Fjord and you can see all the way to the German coastline.
You will find shopping possibilities and restaurants about 3 km from Rendbjerg.
The beach of Rendbjerg is a small, sandy beach with a bathing jetty and a boat harbour. Surfers will also find good conditions by the beach of Rendbjerg.
The nature of Broagerland is hilly and lush, and more of the holiday houses lie by the forest 'Rendbjerg Skov'.
'Kobbelskoven' is a state forest with high beech trees, which grow all the way out to the steep coastline. From the outskirts of the forest you can enjoy the magnificent views of the bay 'Sønderborg Bugt', the town Sønderborg, the peninsular Kegnæs as well as the historic mill 'Dybbøl Mølle'.
By following the path 'Gendarmstien', which begins in Rendbjerg, you are led through varying, scenic and lush landscapes. The path ends by Brunsnæs, which is an old and cosy ferry berth with a good bathing beach and an inn.
You will find more golf courses in the area. Try f.x. the courses of 'Benniksgaard Golf Klub' by Gråsten, 'Sønderjyllands Golfklub' by Tinglev, 'Alssund Golfklub' by Augustenborg or 'Nordborg Golfklub' by Nordborg.
Anglers will find good opportunities along the shores of Broagerland.
Lovely nature experiences await you along the many walking and bicycle paths of the area.
In the southern part of the forest 'Kobbelskoven' you will find a number of interesting relics; 2 long barrows, 2 round barrows and 7 mounds from the bronze age.
'Cathrinesminde Teglværksmuseum' by Broager is a well-preserved industrial plant from the end of the 19th century. Today, the former brickfield function as a museum.
The church of Broager has two spires and is decorated with frescos from the 13th. and the 16th. century. On the cemetery you can still see many war graves from the year 1864.
Take a daytrip to the German border, which is situated only 25 km from Rendbjerg.
The area, surrounding Rendbjerg, is rich in historic relics in the shape of f.x. mills and castles.
The castle 'Gråsten Slot' and the palace garden, belonging to the castle, are surrounded by scenic nature with lakes and forest. The profusely decorated castle church and the palace garden, which is full of flowers, are both open to the public (6 km).
The mill 'Dybbøl Mølle' (originally from the year 1744) by Sønderborg was formerly situated in the middle of a military area and today it function as a small museum with pictures and memorials from the battlefield.
'Sønderborg Slot' has been restored according to the Baroque and contains i.a. a museum, which informs of the South Jutland history.
Visit Sønderborg with the cosy cafés and restaurants, the vivid nightlife, the many cultural offers, the leisure activities and the beautiful marina.
