A varying nature and lovely bathing beach surround the holiday house area Rude Strand. The area is centrally located in proportion to more sights, larger towns, i.a. Århus (28 km) and Horsens (35 km), as well as lovely forests and nature areas. It is possible to buy groceries in the area, which also offers an inn and a restaurant.
Rude Strand has one of the best bathing beaches on the eastern coast of Jutland. The wide and sandy beach is very suitable for children. A bathing jetty is available here and the beach invites various beach activities and walks. Windsurfers will find good conditions here.
From the lovely and open landscape north of Rude Strand you can enjoy the scenic view of the inlet 'Kysing Fjord' and the preserved area with a bird sanctuary, which stretches all the way down to the inlet.
Together, the valley 'Fuldendalen' and the forest 'Fløjstrup Skov', further towards north, makes out an undulating and clefted forest area with meadow areas, a stream, which winds through the area, as well as a rich animal life. The area offers a number of walking paths.
From the elevated nature areas it is possible to see all the way to Mols and the islands Samsø and Tunø.
The forest 'Marselisborgskovene' is situated in the southern outskirts of Århus - a very scenic area with many bicycle and walking paths. Here you can also get close to i.a. roe deer and wild boar within an enclosed area.
Anglers will find good opportunities along the shores of the area.
Towards north you will find bicycle paths along the shores.
Boats and water cycles can be rented in the area.
The many walking paths of the nature areas and the forests, surrounding Rude Strand, enable you to experience the lovely nature at close range.
By Rude Strand you will find a long barrow with more stone coffins from the early stone age. Generally the district is rich in historic sights, and you can i.a. experience churches and ruins of churches, a long house with stone cists, monuments and ruins from the viking age.
'Den Økologiske Have' (the ecological garden) by Odder is the largest ecological garden in Scandinavia. Get inspired in the large garden with theme gardens, animals, grain and flower fields (7 km).
The history of the district can be seen at the regional museum 'Odder Egnsmuseum'. Here you can experience the preserved water and steam mill 'Odder Vand- og Dampmølle', a farmhouse room from the 18th. century and more interesting exhibitions (8 km).
Moesgård Museum has been established on the manor house Moesgård and contains archaeological collections from both Denmark and the Persian Gulf. The place is idyllically situated and surrounded by lovely forest, which leads all the way down to the bay of Århus (13 km).
From Hov, 9 km south of Rude Strand, the ferry sails daily to the island Samsø. Bring your bicycle to the island, which offers a unique nature, peace, quiet, idyll and many leisure activities.
Visit Århus, the 'capital' of Jutland, with the amusement park 'Tivoli Friheden', the open-air museum 'Den Gamle By', the music house 'Musikhuset', the small and intimate alleys of the Latin Quarter, the cosy pedestrian streets and the lively atmosphere by the stream 'Vadestedet' (28 km).
Horsens offers plenty of culture, the widest pedestrian street in Northern Europe, an inlet and many museums (35 km).
In Givskud you can visit a combined lion park and zoo. Meet with more than 1,000 animals from the whole world on the 60 hectares large area (93 km).
LEGOLAND is build out of 50 million toy bricks. More than 50 activities provide you with speed, excitement and experiences! 'The funniest playground for the whole family' (100 km).
