Smedebæk is an ideal holiday destination if you wish to enjoy nature and fish in some of the many fishponds, lakes and streams of the area. Here you will find peace, quiet and fresh air. The area is located in a distance of 10-20 km from the towns Nørre-Snede, Brande, Ikast and Give, which all offer good shopping possibilities and more restaurants.
Smedebæk is situated in the centre of the country, and therefore you will find no coastline in the vicinity of the holiday house area. The distance to the beaches by the east coast (Saksild Strand and Rude Strand) is about 85 km. A 60 km long drive brings you to the beach Skaven Strand by the inlet Ringkøbing Fjord and about 90 km from Smedebæk you will find the North Sea and the beach Nymindegab Strand.
5 large ponds, a large lake and 2 streams ('Brede Å' and 'Holtum Å') surround Smedebæk. A large expanse of water is available for i.a. anglers.
The plantation Hastrup Plantage is a scenic forest area north-west of Ejstrupholm with i.a. 4 marked walking paths and the lake Hastrup Sø, surrounded by forest.

'Hærvejen' is an old ox road and pilgrim route. It is more than thousand years old and leads all the way from Viborg to the German border, close past Smedebæk. The scenic road leads you through hills, moor landscapes, river valleys and hardwood forests, past grave mounds from the iron and bronze ages and stone circles from the viking age.
Givskud is a combined lion park and zoo. Here you drive around among the wild animals and experience both hippos and lions at close range (26 km).
In the town Jelling you can experience the 'birth certificate' of Denmark in the shape of the stones 'Jellingestenene'. The runic stones were erected by 'Gorm den Gamle' in the honour of 'Harold Bluetooth' (37 km).
