Haurvig is located on the bar Holmsland Klit, which separates the inlet Ringkøbing Fjord from the North Sea. A recreational and cosy holiday destination for the whole family.
At the highway in Haurvig you can see one of the old navigation marks that used to help the sailor and fishermen in their navigation in the 19th. century. The navigation mark is made out of wood and placed on a high dune towards the sea. Furthermore Haurvig is famous for its old life saving station, the scenically situated church, the museum 'Abelines Gård' as well as the small cosy inlet harbour 'Kirkehavnen'.
Årgab, about 3 km north of Haurvig, offers a water world, tennis courts, minigolf, a Put & Take fishpond and a grocer.
The vivid and cosy town Hvide Sande, about 8 km north of Haurvig, has museums, a fishing harbour, good shopping possibilities and more restaurants.
