Bornholm is the island of contrasts with its dramatic cliff coasts, deep quarries, and waterfalls in the north, kilometers of white sandy beaches in the south, and large, beautiful beech forests with forest lakes in the middle of the island. Denmark's only rocky island exudes a very special atmosphere with its idyllic, small fishing villages and towns, the characteristic smokehouses, round churches, and many attractions. Many artisans reside on the island, and in several places, it is possible to visit local sculptors, glassblowers, ceramists, and painters.
