The museum 'Hedelandsmuseet' in Kølkær shows a small collection of old agricultural tools and domestic utensils.
The brown coal pits of Søby, which provided most of Denmark with coal from the late forties until the seventies, today consist of a large area with unique nature, brown coal ditches and a museum, which is established in one of the original houses of the area (3 km).
Visit 'the capital of the moor' - the cosy textile, fair and culture city Herning. Here you will find a number of galleries, the museum of the writer Steen Steensen Blicher, shopping possibilities and various restaurants (14 km).
The church of Skarrild is one of Denmark's oldest churches, and on the cemetery British pilots from a shot down military plane are buried (17 km).
By the scenic moor areas and the forest by the river Karstoft Å the former manor house Skarrildhus is situated. The manor house is beautifully restored and around the house you will find a rhododendron park and an idyllic old water mill.
