The situation around covid-19 worries us all, and we understand that there are many questions that arise. At Sol og Strand we will do everything to help you in the best possible way, and therefore we have tried to gather the most important information.

In general
We do not wish to travel because of the situation with COVID-19. Can we cancel our rented holiday home and have our money refunded?

At the present time, the situation with COVID-19 has no bearing on the normal procedures relating to cancellations, cf. the rental terms and conditions.

Is Sol og Strand open?

Yes, all our 27 offices around the country are open, and we are looking forward to helping you have an enjoyable stay at one of our many holiday homes.

Is staying in a holiday home a safe way to enjoy a holiday?

Yes. Compared to other holidays, staying in a holiday home is a safe and secure way of enjoying a holiday. You will stay in a holiday home surrounded by countryside and you can decide whether you want to meet other people, or simply enjoy time spent with family or friends or simply enjoy being alone.

We do our utmost to ensure our holiday homes are cleaned. When we became aware of the COVID-19 outbreak, we devised a set of extended guidelines for our cleaning personnel. The guidelines specify a number of measures, which overall, will ensure there is a minimum risk of the virus being spread in our holiday homes. Our employees’ and our holiday guests’ safety is a high priority and we do our utmost to ensure that a stay with us is as safe and secure as possible.

Can we move into our rented holiday home without coming into contact with any personnel?

In some locations it is possible to arrive and collect keys to the holiday home in a letter box. In other locations you must use a personal code in order to enter the holiday home and if this is the case, you do not need to visit the local office and instead can simply focus on enjoying your time together in the holiday home. Contact the local office to learn what options are available with your holiday home.

One or more of our travelling group are especially vulnerable if they become infected with COVID-19. What are our rights relative to our insurance?

If you have a doctor’s note stating that the person in question is not able to come to the holiday home during the rental period because of illness, then you are covered by your cancellation insurance. A person is not automatically covered by cancellation insurance because they belong to a risk group – in that case the standard terms and conditions of cancellation apply.

We would like to cancel the rented holiday home because we would like to limit our number of social contacts

In case of infection or suspected infection
What do we do if one of us catches the COVID-19 just before we go on holiday?

You must send us an e-mail informing us of your illness. Please send the e-mail to annulleringer@sologstrand.dk. Sol og Strand will then send you a link to Gouda travel insurance. However, it is important that you can document the illness with a valid doctor’s note.

What do we do if we suspect that one of our parties has caught the COVID-19 while we are on holiday in the holiday home?
